Community

Since 1989, Legacy has maintained a tradition of commitment to the community by donating time and money in support of charitable events and causes.

Susan G Komen Race for the Cure - Teams Sponsor
Since 2006, Legacy Roofing has sponsored Teams in the SGK Race and entered an average of 30 race participants each year. Komen for the Cure is the worlds largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find a cure. Held every June at Qwest Field, the Race for the Cure is the SGK's largest event, in which the goal is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. Teams are the heart and soul of Race Day as they not only contribute to the events spirit and sense of community, but also provide a significant fundraising source. As the Team's sponsor, Legacy sets up a booth at Qwest Field on race day and distributes giveaways to race participants. Legacy Roofing is honored to help contribute to this excellent organization. If you would like to participate on Legacy's team, please send an email to info@legacyroofing.com. For information, or to make a donation, go to www.komenpugetsound.org.

Jacob Green Charity benefiting Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Jacob Green, a former Seattle Seahawks star, hosts a celebrity golf tournament and auction each year to raise money for this important cause. The mission of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is to eliminate cancer and related diseases through research. Legacy has supported this tournament since 2006 and we look forward to continuing our involvement with the Jacob Green Charity. For more information, or to make a donation, go to www.fhcrc.org.

Northwest Parkinson's Foundation Sponsor
The Northwest Parkinson's Foundation was established to improve the quality of life for the Northwest Parkinson's Disease community through programs of awareness, education, advocacy and care. Team Parkinsons raises funds to support the Foundation through activities like the 200-mile Group Health Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic (STP). Since 2006, Legacy has been a Team Parkinsons sponsor for the STP, which takes place annually in July. To join Team Parkinsons, or to make a donation, go to www.nwpf.org.

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County
Legacy became involved with the Boys and Girls Club in the early 1990s with a single team sponsorship. Over the years, this has increased to ongoing support of multiple teams and many Eastside Boys and Girls Club locations. Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. With 12 full-service Clubs, and 28 before- and after-school program sites, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in the nation, serving 18,000+ members annually. Seattle and Eastside High School Athletics
Legacy Roofing is a proud supporter of many Seattle and Eastside high school sports programs. These programs include Bellevue Boys Lacrosse, Roosevelt High School Girl's Hoops Tournament, three annual Student-Athlete Scholarships at Eastlake High School and various basketball and football program sponsorships. As members of the community for over 20 years, we truly enjoy supporting the many sports programs for our youth. Vision House
In August 2005, we worked with Vision House, a Renton, Washington based non-profit dedicated to helping homeless residents successfully re-enter the community. We contributed most of the roofing materials and labor to build “The Children's Village,” a 5,500-square foot daycare center and housing complex that supports transitioning homeless mothers.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
In November 2005, ABC's hit series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” came to Port Orchard, Washington. Harsh weather and construction delays left their crews short-handed with a hard deadline approaching. Legacy immediately responded by assembling a roofing crew of 12 that worked with hundreds of other local volunteers for 10 hours to complete the home in time.
